In the framework of this programme Sahar Hammoud will show you how to prepare traditional Lebanese meals. The menu is made of three typical Lebanese dishes:
Starter: Batata Harra (بطاطا حرَة)
An easy to make recipe and flavorful appetizer well known in Lebanon is “Batata Harra”. Batata Harra literally means spicy potatoes. It consists of potatoes, peppers, green chili, fresh coriander, and garlic which are all fried together in oil.
Main Course: Fatteh (فتَة)
The creamy texture of the garlic-flavored yogurt contrasts with the crunch of the fried Lebanese bread makes the Lebanese Fatteh one of the main courses served for breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. It can be done in different ways with eggplants, chickpeas or chicken and it is really fast to prepare.
Desserts: Meghli (مغلي)
The Meghli is a traditional Lebanese dessert that is served to celebrate the birth of a baby. It is a delicious rice pudding spiced with cinnamon and caraway and garnished with shredded coconut and nuts. The main benefit of this dessert is for the mothers after birth, since caraway is thought to assist the new mother in lactating and reduces bloating.
Completeing the menu, Sahar will show you how to prepare real Arabic coffee.
