The predecessor of Yokka Dessert School was Yokka Artisan Dessert Factory which – as a family enterprise – produced desserts made of high-quality ingredients between 2011 and 2013 so that the inhabitants of Pécs could experience how a cake made of butter and cream without artificial colours and aromas tastes. We received a lot of positive feedback from our - mainly returning - clients and in 2012 we received the title of “product of the year” from the magazine TimeOut Pécs. Even at this time a lot if interested people asked us whether we could teach them how to bake but at that moment our system was not suitable for that.
However, in 2015 we decided to organize dessert workshops where we can teach anybody who is interested how to make delicious desserts. Our first macaron workshop took place in February 2015. Since than much time has passed: our repertoire has been expanded, the number of our instructors increased. In 2017 the inside of our school has been reconstructed so that now we can accept 8 participants in our programmes
In 2018 we started to organize cooking classes as well which nicely completed our dessert workshops. From this time on each month we organize one or two cooking programmes for the lovers of cooking.
November 2019 is another important date in the life of our cooking school. We start our English-speaking workshops with the participation of the international students of the University of Pécs. We truly hope that through this activity our school will be able to contribute to the understanding of other cultures and countries.
